Physiotherapy is an integral part of modern line of treatment in many diseases especially during recovery stage in medical science. Physiotherapy is an important partner of today’s health care system and it indeed augments respective medical treatment.

PROGRAM OFFERED:

The college offers undergraduate program on Physiotherapy (B.Physio.) This self-financed college is affiliated to Gujarat University and is recognized by Indian Association of Physiotherapy. It has got N.O.C. from Gujarat Government.

DURATION OF COURSE:

It is a four and a half years degree program with compulsory six months rotatory internship.

ADMISSION CRITERIA:

The admissions are given by Central Admission Committee, Gujarat State every year on the basis of merits of standard 12 th, provided candidates should have secured more than 50% marks in theory and practical examinations in standard 12 th.

ABOUT COLLEGE:

The college has a separate building of 20,000 sq.feet with a service of full fledged Physiotherapy Department. The college and the department are attached to Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai General Hospital which is attached to Sheth K.M. School of Post Graduate and NHL Municipal Medical College. Basic medical sciences like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry etc are taught by expert faculty from NHL Municipal Medical College. Practical training to the students is imparted in the Physiotherapy Department which is running in the same building and attached to Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai General Hospital which is run by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.

COLLEGE LIBRARY:  

The college has its separate library with more than 500 books. Students are provided facilities to utilize the Central Library of NHL Medical College. College has subscribed foreign journals from America, Australia, Canada etc..

AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS:  

The college is well equipped with all the audio-visual and internet facilities to enable better teaching

PERFORMANCE SO FAR:

So far 7 batches of students are admitted in the college and 3 batches have already completed training, passed the course. All of them are well settled in U.S.A., U.K., Australia and even in India.

FUTURE VENTURE:

The college is starting a Post graduate in Physiotherapy program which is second in Gujarat. It will have 18 students intake capacity annually. The program is already been approved by Gujarat University and Govt. of Gujarat.

DEPARTMENT:

S.B.B.College of Physiotherapy is facilitated with a Physiotherapy Department attached to Sheth Vadilal Sarabhai General Hospital. It is a 1100 bedded multispeciality hospital. The department is well equipped with all the latest hi-tech equipments and well experienced staff.

The department is subdivided with facility for Orthopaedics Physiotherapy Department, Adult and Paediatric Neurology Department, Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation Department and Electrotherapy Department. All the respective sections are equipped with the latest hi-tech equipments. The enthusiastic expert physiotherapists are always on their feet to take care of all the patients

The department gets about 150 patients per day on O.P.D. basis and about 100 indoor patients of V.S.General hospital. To be seen daily in wards.

Round the clock staff and students are placed for Intensive care, critical care and trauma patients in Emergency wards, I.C.C.U., O.I.C.U. and post-operative wards. Early interventions of high risk babies are done in neonatal I.C.U.

EMG/NCV and PFT facilities are also available at nominal rates.
